HearPO's Preventative Protection Plan (PPP)

  • HearPO devised a plan to provide the employer more for their money, while maintaining quality service to the claimant.
  • Total charge = $145.
  • This includes the following services and products: unlimited clean and checks, a hearing screening, electroacoustic analysis and reprogramming.
  • We also include a $25 acquisition cost for products. This can include items such as wax filters, tubing and dry aid kits.
  • One year after the aid is fit the claimant can request a Preventative Protection Plan for their hearing aid to be serviced for an additional year. The PPP is not billed and does not go into effect until the claimant goes in for their first service.
    • Example: Claimant has hearing aids for 12 months and receives free service. He doesn't go in for a clean & check until the aids are 17 months old. The Plan would start on that date of service and extend out one year, giving him coverage until the aids are 29 months old.

Evaluation Points

The points below are not specific to the Preventative Protection Plan. They apply to all new HearPO aids, but they are important to keep in mind when evaluating HearPO's comprehensive coverage.

  • As of December 2005, HearPO offers a standard 3 year repair warranty for new hearing aid orders, so there is no charge for repairs on these aids for the first 3 years.
  • If a repair is needed after the 3 year warranty expires, HearPO offers a standard 1 year repair warranty included in the repair fee for hearing aids less than 5 years old. The benefit to you is to provide longer coverage at a reduced cost.

    • On average, ITE hearing aids are sent in for repair every 12-15 months
    • ITC hearing aids are sent in for repair every 9-11 months.
    • CIC hearing aids are seen every 7-9 months.
